Ecommerce Website Design in Dubai

VDESIGNU designs and builds online stores from Dubai for brands selling across the UAE. We choose Shopify or a custom build from your catalogue and operations, then set up what a template skips: Tabby and Tamara at checkout, an Arabic storefront that reads right to left, VAT invoices the FTA accepts, and delivery and cash-on-delivery rules your warehouse can keep.

What's included

A platform picked from your catalogue

Shopify for most brands that want to run the store themselves. A custom or headless build when you need bundles, trade pricing, an ERP sync or product logic that would otherwise take a stack of apps.

A UAE checkout tested with real orders

Cards and Apple Pay through Shopify Payments or your bank's gateway, Tabby and Tamara instalments, and cash on delivery switched on only for the zones and baskets where it pays.

An Arabic storefront, not a mirrored English one

Arabic product names, size guides and filters written for Gulf shoppers, store search that copes with Arabic spelling variants, and SKUs and sizes kept left to right.

VAT invoices that hold up

A proper tax invoice with your TRN sent with every order, VAT shown in dirhams even if you sell in other currencies, and our VAT invoice template to check the fields.

Delivery promises the warehouse can keep

Cut-off times by emirate, delivery fees by zone, and order updates over WhatsApp or SMS so customers stop calling to ask where their parcel is.

Product pages ready for Google Shopping

Product schema, a clean feed for Google Merchant Center in UAE dirhams, and photography and copy that answer the fit and fabric questions before they're asked.

Web Design in Dubai

Shopify or custom: which fits a Dubai store?

Most Dubai stores we’re asked to build belong on Shopify. It handles payments, tax, shipping and Arabic well enough, your team can run it without us, and Tabby and Tamara both plug into it. Custom only earns its cost when your products or operations don’t fit the standard cart.

Krump is a good example of why we start with the brand. We designed Krump’s logo, identity, packaging and online store, so the site carries the same attitude as the box it ships in.

What does a UAE checkout have to offer?

A Dubai checkout needs cards, Apple Pay, buy-now-pay-later and, for some categories, cash on delivery. Miss one and a share of shoppers leave at the last step. The work is less about adding options and more about testing each one end to end, including refunds and partial returns.

Shopify Payments is available in the UAE, which simplifies card and Apple Pay setup. Tabby and Tamara instalments need their own merchant approval, so we apply in the first weeks, not the week before launch.

Where you show instalments matters too. A line under the price on the product page (“or split it into instalments with Tabby”) does more work than a logo buried at checkout.

For HAMAC, the Dubai and Abu Dhabi swimwear boutique, we built the online store and run its SEO. Its checkout has to reassure residents who know the shop and visitors who only know the website.

A good Arabic store is designed around how Arabic shoppers browse and search a catalogue. Product names, filters and size guides are written in Arabic from the start, and on-site search treats spelling variants as the same word. A mirrored English template with translated buttons fails on the details that sell.

Store search is where most Arabic storefronts break. Shoppers type أ, إ and ا interchangeably, swap ة for ه at the end of a word, and mix in English brand names. If your search engine treats those as different letters, a shopper who types “ملابس سباحة” gets nothing, assumes you don’t stock swimwear, and leaves.

Sizes, SKUs and phone numbers stay left to right, and filters use the words Gulf shoppers use, not a dictionary’s.

VAT, delivery and cash on delivery

Three operational details trip up new Dubai stores more than design ever does.

Tax invoices. The FTA’s public clarification on tax invoices says a tax invoice must be issued and delivered for every taxable supply, and that printing one only on request doesn’t meet the rule. Your store’s order email therefore needs to be, or carry, a valid tax invoice with “Tax Invoice”, your name, address and TRN. Our free VAT invoice template generator lists the fields.

Delivery. Dubai shoppers are used to quick delivery, so set cut-off times you can meet, price by zone (Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, the northern emirates), and send tracking by WhatsApp or SMS.

Cash on delivery. Keep it where it wins orders, and limit it where refused parcels pile up. A WhatsApp confirmation before dispatch catches most of the orders nobody intended to pay for.

A store isn’t finished at launch. Product data, feeds and category pages decide whether Google sends shoppers, so most clients carry on with ecommerce SEO for Dubai stores. If you’re weighing a store against a brochure site or a booking platform, our broader Dubai web design and development page covers those builds.

How we work

  1. 01

    Audit and scope

We crawl your current site, pull Search Console data and list every page that earns traffic, links or leads. That list protects the launch and shapes the scope.

  2. 02

    Structure and design

Sitemap, page templates and a content plan come first. Visual design follows, in both languages, reviewed on phones.

  3. 03

    Build on staging

Development happens on a private staging link you can click through from the first templates, with real content entered as each template is finished.

  4. 04

    Pre-launch checks

Redirects tested, Core Web Vitals measured, forms and analytics verified, Arabic pages read by a native speaker, basic accessibility checked.

  5. 05

    Launch and watch

We go live, submit sitemaps and check crawl errors, indexing and rankings closely for the first weeks, fixing anything that slips.

Questions

Shopify or a custom ecommerce website: which suits a Dubai store?

Shopify suits most Dubai brands with a few hundred products, standard variants and a small team. Go custom or headless when the catalogue has unusual logic, such as configurable products, B2B price lists or a tight ERP link, or when the Arabic experience matters more than a theme allows. We decide after looking at your products and order flow.

Does Shopify Payments work in the UAE?

Yes. Shopify lists the United Arab Emirates among the countries where Shopify Payments is available, with its own business and bank verification. Some merchants still prefer a gateway from their UAE bank. We check what your trade licence and bank account support before we set anything up.

How do Tabby and Tamara work on an online store?

Both are buy-now-pay-later providers used by UAE shoppers. The customer chooses instalments at checkout, the provider settles with you and collects the instalments from the shopper. Each has its own merchant approval, so we apply early and test the full flow, refunds included.

What VAT paperwork does a UAE online store need?

If you're VAT registered, the FTA expects a tax invoice to be issued and delivered for every taxable sale, and offering to print one on request doesn't count. It must say Tax Invoice and show your name, address and TRN. If you invoice in another currency, the VAT has to appear in dirhams with the exchange rate.

Should my Dubai store offer cash on delivery?

Often yes, but on your terms. Cash on delivery still wins orders in some categories and with first-time buyers, and it also brings refused parcels and courier cash fees. We usually limit it by basket size, area or customer history, and confirm COD orders on WhatsApp before dispatch.

Can my store also sell to Saudi Arabia and the rest of the GCC?

Yes, but treat each country as its own market. Currency, couriers, duties, returns and payment methods change at the border, and Saudi shoppers expect mada alongside cards. We set up separate markets in Shopify or your custom build rather than one store pretending to be local everywhere.
