Abu Dhabi, UAE App Development

Mobile App Development in Abu Dhabi

We build mobile apps, web apps and portals for Abu Dhabi organisations, from booking apps for clinics to supplier dashboards for industrial firms in Musaffah and KEZAD. Apps are built in React Native for iOS and Android, with UAE PASS sign-in, payments and CRM connections where they fit. Our team builds them remotely from Dubai.

Talk to us about Abu Dhabi

What's included

Discovery before code

Workflows mapped with the people who'll use the app, from the field technician to the finance team, so the first release solves the problem that justified it.

React Native for iOS and Android

One codebase for both stores, with native modules where the camera, location or offline storage need them.

UAE PASS sign-in

Login through the national digital identity, registered on the UAE PASS developer portal and built on its OAuth 2.0 flow, for users who already use it for TAMM and their banks.

Portals and dashboards

Customer, tenant, patient and vendor portals, plus internal dashboards that replace the spreadsheet everyone emails around.

Payments and integrations

Card payments through providers like Stripe, buy-now-pay-later with Tabby or Tamara, and connections to your CRM, ERP or booking system.

Arabic interface from day one

Right-to-left screens, Arabic and English content managed side by side, and dates, numbers and forms that behave correctly in both languages.

App Development in Abu Dhabi

What Abu Dhabi organisations need built

Abu Dhabi app projects tend to start with a process that’s outgrown email, WhatsApp and spreadsheets. The organisation knows what it does every day. It needs software that matches the work instead of forcing the work to match the software.

Builds that suit the capital’s mix of businesses:

  • Booking and patient apps for clinics in Khalifa City or on Al Reem, with reminders and bilingual intake forms.
  • Field apps for contractors serving energy and utility sites, built to work with patchy signal and sync later.
  • Tenant and owner portals for property managers on Saadiyat and Yas.
  • Supplier dashboards for distributors in KEZAD and Musaffah tracking orders, stock and delivery notes.
  • Startup products for founders in Hub71 who need a working version one.

Signing in with UAE PASS

For many Abu Dhabi users, UAE PASS is already how they prove who they are online. They use it for TAMM, the emirate’s government services platform, and for a growing list of banks and telecoms. Adding it to your app means they log in with something they trust, and you can avoid building your own identity verification.

Integration starts with registering your app on the UAE PASS developer portal. From there it’s a standard OAuth 2.0 flow: the user approves on their phone, your backend exchanges a code for a token, and you receive the profile fields you were granted. We handle the registration, the staging and production setup, and the fallback for users without an account.

Building for regulated data

Where your organisation is licensed decides which data rules apply, and they shape the architecture:

  • Mainland companies follow the UAE’s federal personal data protection law.
  • ADGM firms, on Al Maryah and Al Reem islands, follow ADGM’s Data Protection Regulations 2021, overseen by its Office of Data Protection.
  • Healthcare providers also work under DoH’s ADHICS standard.

We decide hosting, encryption, logging and retention with that in mind, and document it so your compliance team can sign off.

Arabic-first interfaces

A good Arabic interface needs more than flipping the layout. Back arrows, progress bars and swipe gestures have to reverse. Mixed Arabic and English text (a product code inside an Arabic sentence) has to render in the right order. Forms need to accept Arabic names and Emirates ID formats. We test every screen in both languages on real devices before release.

From idea to the app stores

  1. Discovery workshop (remote) to map users, workflows and the version-one scope.
  2. Clickable prototype tested with a handful of real users.
  3. Build in two-week cycles, each ending in a demo build you can install.
  4. Store submission for Apple and Google, including the review paperwork.
  5. Support and iteration once real usage data comes in.

Read about our app development practice for how we work on web apps, mobile apps, extensions and desktop tools. Most apps feed a sales or service team, so they pair well with CRM implementation in Abu Dhabi. How we work

  1. 01

    Discovery

Short working sessions to pin down users, the one workflow that matters most, the data involved and what can wait. You get a written scope at the end.

  2. 02

    Clickable prototype

The key screens designed and linked so you can put them in front of real users before production code exists.

  3. 03

    Build in short cycles

Working software on a test environment every two weeks, reviewed with you, so changes happen while they're still cheap.

  4. 04

    Beta with real users

A small group uses the app on real work. We fix what they trip over and measure whether the core workflow gets done.

  5. 05

    Launch and support

Store submissions or go-live, monitoring, and an agreed support arrangement for fixes, updates and the next features.

Questions

How long does it take to build a mobile app in Abu Dhabi?

A first release with a focused feature set usually takes a few months from discovery to store submission. Apps with several user roles, offline sync or deep integrations take longer. We agree a scope for version one and a dated plan before any code is written.

Can our app use UAE PASS for login?

Yes. Service providers register their app on the UAE PASS developer portal, then integrate its OAuth 2.0 login. It's familiar to Abu Dhabi residents, who use it for TAMM and many banking and telecom services, and it can remove a lot of identity checks you'd otherwise build yourself.

Do we need a mobile app or a web app?

If users need the camera, push notifications, offline access or daily use on a phone, a mobile app earns its place. If they log in occasionally from a desk, a web app is quicker to build and easier to update. Many Abu Dhabi portals start as web apps and add a mobile app later.

Can you build an MVP for a startup in Hub71 or ADGM?

Yes. We scope a version one around the single workflow investors and early customers need to see, and build it so it can grow. SmartVin, a SaaS product for junkyards in the United States, is an example: we handled product design, development and brand.

What about apps that handle patient data?

Healthcare apps in Abu Dhabi fall under the Department of Health's ADHICS standard for information and cyber security, which covers data classification, access control and encryption. We design the data flows with your compliance team from the start rather than retrofitting them.

How much does app development cost in Abu Dhabi?

It depends on the platforms, the number of user roles and screens, and the integrations. We run a short discovery, then give you a scoped proposal for version one.
